Two sailing ships are ready to be repaired at a dock at Amsterdam harbour. Repairing, caulking, careening, waterproofing the hull of a ship.
Made by Reinier Nooms after own design.

Biography engraver: Reinier Nooms (called Zeeman / Seeman, 1623-1664) was a Dutch painter of mainly nautical scenes. He started painting after a career on sea, and this hands on knowledge of sailing is very apparent in his paintings.
