BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Lucas Vorsterman I (1595?1675) was a prominent Flemish engraver and close collaborator of Rubens and later Van Dyck. He was instrumental in the dissemination of Baroque portraiture through reproductive engravings.
Biography artist: Anthony van Dyck (1599?1641) was a Flemish Baroque painter and etcher known for his elegant portraits. His “Iconography” series depicted notable contemporary figures, widely circulated through prints.
