Made by Pieter van der Borcht after Abrham de Bruyn after Gerard van Groeningen. Pieter van der Borcht (Flemish; 1545-1608) was born in Malines and worked there and in Antwerp. He was one of the first to use the etching-technique extensively. He was the chief illustrator of the famous Antwerp publisher Plantijn. Gerard van Groeningen (active ca. 1561-1576) worked in Antwerp.
Condition: Very good, given age. Trimmed close to plate mark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
