Description
Monument to the Ideal Doctor
Surrealist lithograph titled Monument to the Ideal Doctor, after the gouache by Salvador Dali.
Lithograph on Japon paper.
Sheet size: 55 x 74,5 cm. Image size: 55 x 74,5 cm.
According to Field this lithograph was published in a total of 550 copies (350 on unbranded paper, 100 copies with Roman numerals on Japon and 100 copies Epreuve d’Artiste = Artist Proof on Arches paper). This print however is numbered, 10/100, signed but printed on Japon, which is in conflict with the Field Guide, although the Field Guide ‘Counterfeits’ only mentions a counterfeit on infinity paper, which this is not. Ref: Field 172: 73-6 and 261.
The lithograph is printed on thick Japon paper. In our opinion this is clearly a lithographic print. We are currently investigating the authenticity of this item.
