Description

A Dutch girl wearing traditional costume (also known as folk costume) featuring a bonnet and head jewelry under a cap (probably from the province Zeeland). Windmills in the background.

Etching on laid paper.
Sheet size: 10,5 x 10,2 cm. Image size: 9,8 x 9,3 cm.

Impression drawn from the original plate, included with the print. Monogrammed EB in the lower right corner of the image. The plate has been treated with lacquer (removable) for preservation purposes.

Made by Etienne Bosch after own design. Etienne Bosch (1863-1933) was a Dutch painter, draughtsman, lithographer and etcher. He was a student at the same time as Marius Bauer at the Academy in the Hague, and worked in a similar style.

Condition: Very good, given age. Margins faintly soiled and cropped close to the platemark and image edge. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
