Etching / engraving w/ contemporary/old hand colouring on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 25 x 40,5 cm. Image size: 22.5 x 36.5 cm.

From: ‘Eden, or a complete body of gardening.’, by John Hill and Thomas Hale, published in London 1756-57 (2nd. ed 1773). The first ed. contained 60 plates, the second ed. 80 plates. Artists and engravers associated with this work are: John Hill, C.A. Edwards, Jan van Huysum, B. Cole, Jacobus Caspar Philips, Edward Dalton, Darly et al.

Made by an anonymous engraver after John Hill and others.

Condition: Good, given age. Light ghosting from previous matting. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Paper has been firmly attached to acid-free carrier, which can be removed, but sits fine for framing. Please study scan carefully.
