Gouache drawing with gold paint accents on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 19,8 x 26 cm. Image size: 8,8 x 11,4 cm.

From an Album belonging to ‘Elise’ (Elisabeth Maria Adriana de Vois / Voys (1853-1919), daughter of Elisabeth Maria Theodora de Vois / Voys (1830- ) and Adrianus Hermanus Petrus Eleonardus Sterck (c.1824-1859), a Dutch merchant and aristocrat.

At bottom right: ‘A.B.J. Sterck Ft. 1876’.  A.B.J. Sterck is probably Elise’s brother Bernard J.A. Sterck (1855- ), who attended the Rolduc seminary and was probably influenced in this drawing by his art mentor Adrianus Slits.
