Antique print, titled: ‘La Grande Cascade, a Biljoen Vue de pres.’ – (‘View on the great Cascade near Biljoen’). This print shows a bridged waterfall on the estate ‘Biljoen en Beekhuizen’ near Velp, the estate of baron Johan Frederik Willem van Spaen. a series of six etchings depicting parts of the estate ‘Biljoen en Beekhuizen’. This series was made shortly after the opening of the estate by commission of Van Spaen. Provenance: Rare The name of architect J.G. Michael is defaced from the print in the lower right corner.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Christian Henning’ after own design.

Condition: Very good, given age. Tiny stain in top margin of print. A pinhole in the top edge of the image. Some paper erosion in the lower right where the name was removed. Very faintly stained in the top left of the image. Margins cropped to the platemark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
