Medium: Engraving / etching on hand laid (verge) paper.

Condition: good, given age. Light creasing. Two pinholes in left margin from previous binding. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This attractive print was published ca. 1760.

Biography engraver: Nicolas Marie Ozanne (1728-1811) was a naval engineer, printmaker and marine artist, author of a naval treatise and creator of a series of 60 views of the ports of France. His work witnesses to the French Navy of his time, particularly the Ponant (western) fleet.
