BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive print was engraved for The London Magazine, Published London 1756. The London Magazine or Monthly Gentleman’s Intelligencer was a popular 18th century illustrated periodical. The first incarnation was established in 1732 and ran until 1785 and the fine copper engraved illustrations are widely collected. The magazine was later resurrected in the 19th century and has continued in various formats to the present day. .
