‘Daemonis Antoni ?’

Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. Watermark: Crowned coat of arms with French lily.
Sheet size: 108 x 16,2 cm. (42,5 x 6,4 inch). Image size: 10,4 x 15,6 cm. (4,1 x 6,1 inch).

Made by ‘Cornelis Bloemaert’ after ‘Abraham Bloemaert’. Cornelis Abrahamsz. Bloemaert II (1603-1692) was a pupil of his father and Crispyn de Passe. Abraham Bloemaert (1566-1651) was a Dutch painter and etcher/engraver. He was one of the ‘Haarlem Mannerists’, but shifted towards a more Baroque style around 1600.

Condition: Very good, given age. Trimeed just outside plate mark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
