This plate engraved from an original picture of Helena Forman, second wife of Rubens (…) – This prints shows a portrait of Susanna Lunden (1599-1628), sister of Helena Fourment, who was the second wife of Rubens. So the text on the plate is mistattributed according to the British Museum. Susanna holds her hand to her nipple.

Engraving on handlaid paper.
Sheet size: 18,4 x 24,5 cm. (7,2 x 9,6 inch). Image size: 16,5 x 24 cm. (6,5 x 9,4 inch).

This attractive print was published by Thomas Bradford between 1763-1766. Ref: British Museum.

Made by ‘William Elliot’ after ‘Peter Paul Rubens’. William Elliot (British; 1727-1766). Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), Antwerp, Belgium.

Condition: Good, given age. Remains of glue in the corners on rear. Lower right corner missing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
