(The Great Mirror of Folly, which is actually a collection on all printsmaps and text, published in 1720, satirizing the Englishman John Law, his Mississippi Company, and the international land and trading speculation in worthless shares of the South Sea Bubble of 1719-1720, which resulted in an international scandal. Made by ‘Bernard Picart’ after an anonymous artist. Bernard Picart (1673-1733) was a French engraver, active in Amsterdam. He was the son of Etienne Picart.
Condition: Good, given age. Original fold lines as issued. Light staining and creasing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
