The titles of the engraving below the image is in Hebrew, English, German, Latin, French and Dutch. From ‘Tafereelen der Voornaamste Geschiedenissen van het Oude en Nieuwe Testament’, The Hague: Pieter de Hondt, 1728.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Gouwen’ after ‘Bernard Picart’. Bernard Picart (1673-1733), born in Paris and died in Amsterdam. He came from a family of printmakers and publishers. After 1700 he moved to Amsterdam, where he was active as printmaker and publisher. His prints in the “French” taste were very popular. His way of working was also very influential for the bookillustration in the Netherlands.

Condition: Very good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. Small tear in lower margin. Some faint soiling in the margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
