Sheet size: 14 x 18,5 cm. (5,5 x 7,3 inch). Image size: 11,5 x 13 cm. (4,5 x 5,1 inch).
Inscription in latin. Part of the series about famous Dutch and Flemish scientists titled: “Illustrium Galliae Belgicae scriptorum icones et elogi”.
Made by ‘Phillip Galle’ after an anonymous artist. Attributed to the workshop of Phillip Galle (1537-1612). Author of the text on the print was the poet Janus Lernutius, Jan Leernout (1545-1619). The publisher was Philip or Theodore Galle in Antwerp.
Condition: Good, given age. Soiling in the lower corners and small paper loss in the upper corners. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
