Antique print, titled: ‘Si vieillesse pouvait! – If old age could! – Wenn das alter konnte!’ – Interior with an old man leering over his teacup at the young maid beside him, with a broom leaning against her. Published by Goupil & Cie as part of ‘Musee Omnibus’. Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Duriez’ after ‘Eugene Guerard’. Elie-Philippe-Joseph Duriez was a French 19th c. lithographer from Arras, a student of Hersent. Eugene von Gerard (1811-1901) was an Austrian-born artist, influenced by Claude Lorrain and Nicolas Poussin.
Condition: Very good, given age. Embossed publisher’s stamp in the bottom margin. Some small stains in the top and lower margins, not affecting image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
