Rare antique print, titled: ‘St. Hieronymus’. It shows: a portrait of St. Hieronymus, kneeling and praying in the wilderness. Separately published master print, published ca. 1760. Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich (Weimar 1712 – Dresden 1774) was a German artist and art administrator. He was very competent in imitating many earlier artists, but never developed a style of his own. His engravings in the style of Van Ostade and Rembrandt, both in spirit and skill, are seen as his best work.

Condition: Very good, given age. Small stains in the margins, remains of binding in the left margin. Remains of attachment to carrier to the rear of the sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully, as it accurately reflects the condition of the print.
