Marie de’ Medici seated on a throne at centre, wearing ermine-trimmed dress and slippers, looking lovingly at her child which is held by personifications of Justice and Good Health at left, Cybele standing behind the queen and resting her hand on her left shoulder, Conjugal Fecundity standing at right with a cornucopia. This original antique print originates from ‘Musee du Louvre. Galerie de Rubens dite du Luxembourg composee des vingt-quatre tableaux de la vie de Marie de Medicis graves sur acier par les premiers artistes …’, with text by S. de Saint-Planchez, published in Paris c. 1873 by Gustave Guerin (first published 1809).
