Antique print, untitled. A portrait of an unidentified person. Below the image in the lower right margin a manuscript annotation and signature: “Souvenir bien affecte[…] / a mon ami [name scratched out] / [Illegible signature] / La Haye 22 Aout 1855.” The signature might be that of the person depicted in the portrait. Possibly a proof print (avant la lettre). Printed by E. Spanier (the Hague). Dated in manuscript writing: 1855.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘I.H. Hoffmeister’ after ‘Wijngaardt’.

Condition: Good, given age. A few small stains in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
