Portrait of Jan Lievens. Copy in reverse after the plate by Adam von Bartsch (titled Livens). Bartsch’ plate was based on the engraving by Lucas Vorsterman after Anthony van Dyck.

Sheet size: 12,8 x 15,2 cm. (5 x 6 inch). Image size: 11,5 x 13,7 cm. (4,5 x 5,4 inch).

Made by an anonymous engraver after Adam von Bartsch. Adam von Bartsch (1757-1821) was a famous art historian and one the first cataloguers of prints. He worked in Vienna and made a nice oeuvre of prints himself. Johann Christian Brand (1722-1795) worked in Vienna as a landscape artist.

Condition: Very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
