Medium: Stiple engraving in sepia on hand laid (verge) paper. Watermark: fragment of coat of arms.

Sheet size: 15.8 x 22 cm (6.22 x 8.66 inch). Image size: 9 x 11.2 cm. (3.54 x 4.41 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Remains of paper tape on reverse. Creases. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This attractive print was published in London by A. Molteno in 1795.

Biography engraver: Francesco Bartolozzi (1725-1815) was a famous Italian engraver known for his refined stipple engraving, whose most productive period was spent in London.

Biography artist: Maria Anna Angelika/Angelica Katharina Kauffman (1741-1807) was a reknown Swiss-Austrian Neoclassical paintress and engraver.
