This attractive print was published in 1637 and is part of the ?Bustes de Philosophes et de Rois? series, which consists of 36 portraits (21 after Claude Vignon, 11 after Rembrandt and 4 after Padovino).

Made by ‘Jerome David ‘ after ‘Claude Vignon’. Jerome David (c.1605-c.1670) was a French engraver, brother of Charles David. He mostly engraved portraits. Claude Vignon (1593-1670) was a French painter and etcher from Tours.

Condition: Good, given age. Trimmed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
