This attractive print was published between 1750-1754.

Made by ‘Francois Basan’ after ‘Louis Vigee’. Pierre-Francois Basan (Paris 1723-1797) is a French engraver. He was a pupil of Etienne Fessard and Jean Daulle. He was principally occupied as a printseller, and published a ‘Dictionnaire des Graveurs’ in 1789. Louise Elisabeth Vigee-Le Brun (1755-1842) was active as portrait painter.

Condition: Good, given age. Light soiling and damp staining. Old restoration of a tear in upper margin. Text in pencil on reverse. Remains of glue in corners on reverse. Small pieces of paper missing in upper corners. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
