Hoatzin, Hoactzin, Stinkbird, or Canje Pheasant – 5. Cayenne Pheasant – 6. Guinea Pheasant – 7. Cape Pheasant. Tekst /description page in Dutch included. This engraved print originates from a very rare unknown Dutch work. The plates are similar to the plates in the famous German work: ‘Bilderbuch fur Kinder.’ (Transl.: picture book for children.), by F.J. Bertuch, published 1790-1830 in Weimar. This could be Dutch edition of this work (no references found), or a work that used the Bertuch plates. Plate titles are in Dutch. Condition: Excellent given age. General age related toning and light staining. Paper edges a bit brownish and with occasional small tears and thumbing. Light crease in the middle but nothing serious. Please study scan.
