By: Cornelis Elandts / Elandt, a Dutch etcher, map-maker and land surveyor active in The Hague (1663-c.1681).

Ref: Hollstein Dutch 1-14.

Source: This plate was originally used as a border decoration of a wallmap of The Hague (1681-82) and was later also published in ‘Galerie Agreable …’, van der Aa, 1728. This plate probably originates from the latter. Rare in any case.

Etching / engraving on hand laid paper (verge).

Watermark: Unclear lettering with VD.
