Attributed to Holbein the Younger or an able contemporary. Published in: ‘In Procli Diadochi sphaeram mundi… commentarius.’, by Johann Stoeffler, published in Tübingen: Ulrich Morhard, 1534. Provenance: With a collection mark of Miss D. Wibiral (Lugt 799a), Austrian and Weimar, who passed away c. 1944.
Made by Hans Holbein the Younger after an anonymous artist. Hans Holbein the Younger (ca. 1497-1543) was a reknown German artist. He was active as court artist at the English court. He made many portraits, but also designed jewelry and book illustrations.
Condition: Very good, given age. A few minor spots. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
