Description
Original antique print showing a portrait of Johan Lulofs (1711-1768) was a Dutch mathematician and water engineer. He was a professor at Leiden University in mathematics, astronomy and philosophy. With a 6-line poem by Theodoor van Snakenburg.

Condition: good, given age. Remains from previous attachment on rear, partly shining through. Light soiling. Original folding from being bound in book. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Jakob Houbraken (1698-1780) was a very productive Dutch 18th. Century engraver, who produced a great number of book-illustrations in the taste of the time. He also engraved many portraits and some prints after contemporary masters.
