BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Lambertus Antonius Claessens (1763-1834) was a Flemish engraver and printmaker, known for his detailed engravings and stipple prints. He was active in Antwerp and later in France, where he produced works in both portraiture and copyist engraving.
Biography artist: Adriaan de Lelie (1755-1820) was a Dutch portraitist and genre painter, known for his elegant and sensitive portraits of prominent individuals in the Netherlands. His works were often characterized by a precise and detailed portrayal of his subjects.
