Antique print, untitled. A large group of Hindu men pulling a cart with a statue of Vishnu. They are preceded by musicians and dancers. From: ‘Voyage aux Indes Orientales et a la Chine …’, by Pierre Sonnerat, published in Paris in 1782. Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Poisson’ after ‘Pierre Sonnerat’. Jean-Baptiste-Marie Poisson (1747-1820) was a French engraver. Pierre M. Sonnerat (1745-1814) was a French naturalist and draughtsman.

Condition: Excellent, given age. Two original folds, as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
