Antique print, titled: ”A draught of prospect of the dreadfull innundation or breaking the dykes in Holland which carryed every thing before it.” – A disastrous flood in a rural landscape in Holland. Published in London, 1711.Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘P. Nolpe’. Pieter Nolpe (ca. 1613-ca. 1653) was active in Amsterdam as printmaker/publisher. He often worked from his own designs, based on historical subjects, portraits, landscapes and perspectives. Despite his large output of prints little is known about him.
Condition: Excellent, given age. Original folds as issued. Light dampstaining in margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
