Subject: Antique print, titled: ‘Nieuwe Kaart van Muskovie of Rusland’ – (‘New Map of Muscovy or Russia’). Antique engraving, Map of European Russia. The shown area is from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea in the left edge, as far as the Caspian Sea and the edge of Siberia in the right edge. This includes parts of Sweden and Finland.
Condition: Very good, given age. Original folds, as issued. Some faint soiling and small stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Engraving on hand laid paper.

Description: From the 7th volume of “Hedendaagsche Historie of Tegenwoordige Staat van Alle Volkeren” (Tirion, 1735). This volume deals with Russia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the North Pole and Greenland.
Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Jacob Keyser’ after own design. Jacob Keizer is a Dutch engraver and cartographer active in the first half of the 18th century. Little is known of his life; according to Waller (p. 173) he was active in Russia and Amsterdam, and later Almelo.
