Made by A. Cuvilliers after D. Guilmard.

Medium: Handcoloured lithograph. on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 34.4 x 25.8 cm (13.54 x 10.16 inch). Image size: 31 x 25 cm. (12.2 x 9.84 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. Small stains/foxing in the margins, and a thumbmark in the bottom left corner. . General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This print originates from the French periodical ‘Le Garde-Meuble, Ancien et Moderne’ (Furniture repository, ancient and modern), by Desire Guilmard, published from 1839 to 1935. This print published ca. 1840.

Biography engraver: Adrien Cuvillier was a nineteenth century French lithographer. Desire Guilmard (c. 1810-1885) was a French publisher. Little else is known about his life.
