Four decorative elements, three with military theme (crossed maces behind a shield with a quiver; a crossed mace and quiver behind a plumed helmet; a staff and shield), the fourth a vase with orchid-like flower above a sculpted satyr’s head. All four with a floral base.

Condition: very good, given age. Light ghosting from previous matting. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The original design by Bossi from 1770. This print originates from ‘Ornements Vases et Decorations’ by Pequegnot, published 1862-1870.
Biography engraver: Auguste Pequegnot (1819-1878) was a French painter and engraver. He painted mainly landscapes and women, under tutelage of Master Ciceri. His main engraving work was ‘Ornements Vases et Decorations’, a series of 100 etchings of architectural, sculptural and decorative arts. Benigno Bossi (1727-1800) was an Italian painter, engraver and stucco artist.
