Subject: Antique print, titled: ”Kinderen! Hier ziet gij van Speijk”s roemrijk leven (…).” – This original antique catchpenny print shows 12 scenes depicting the story of Jan Carolus Josephus van Speijk, also written Van Speyk (31 January 1802 – 5 February 1831). He was a Dutch naval lieutenant who became a hero in the Netherlands for his opposition to the Belgian Revolution. Below the images Dutch text.
Condition: Good, given age. Irregular edges as issued. Some crinkles and creases. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
