Subject: Antique print, titled: ”Vooraf gedaen, daarna bedacht, Heeft menigeen in leed gebragt.” – This original antique catchpenny print shows 16 19th century scenes dealing with moral themes; the title translates into ”He who does first and later thinks gets into trouble” or as the saying goes ”Look before you Leap”. Below the images Dutch text in rhyme.

Condition: Good, given age. Irregular edges with a few small tears. Some crinkles and creases. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Medium: Engraving with contemporary hand colouring. on hand laid (verge) paper.
