Part Ornithology. Plate I of order Gallinae, divn. 2 Land Birds, order 5 titled: Genus Otis (Bustard), g. Stuthio (Ostrich). It shows: 1/2. O. Tarda (Breat Bustard male & female), 3. S. Rhea (American Ostrich), 4. S. Casuarius (Cassowary), 5. S. Novae Hollandiae (New Holland Cassowary).

Medium: Etching on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 20.7 x 27.2 cm (8.15 x 10.71 inch). Image size: 20.5 x 26.5 cm. (8.07 x 10.43 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Faint stains and quite some foxing in the image. . General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Rees’ ‘The Cyclopaedia; or, Universal Dictionary opf Arts, Sciences and Literature’. This important 19th-century encyclopedic work was published in serialized form from 1802 to 1820. The entire Cyclopaedia consisted of 39 volumes of text, 5 volumes of plates and an atlas.
