Antique print, titled: ‘Battle of Fuentes d’ Onoro, May 5, 1811.’ – The battle of Fuentes de Onoro in Spain, in which the Anglo-Portuguese army stopped the French army from relieving the city of Almeida. James Jenkins ‘The Martial Achievements of Great Britain’, published in London, 1822. The most famous English colour plate book recording the military endeavours of the Napoleonic wars, considered by Hardie to be a brilliant and worthy record of a brilliant period in our country’s history. Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Thomas Sutherland’ after ‘William Heath’. Thomas Sutherland (ca. 1785- ca. 1820) was an English aquatint etcher. William Heath?(1794-1840) was a?British?artist. He was best known for his published engravings which included?caricatures, political cartoons, and commentary on contemporary life.

Condition: Excellent, given age. Stamp on reverse. Some faint soiling in the margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
