Engraving / Etching on hand laid (vergé) paper.
Sheet size: 29 x 41,8 cm. (11,4 x 16,5 inch). Image size: 22,6 x 35,8 cm. (8,9 x 14,1 inch).

From: ‘Perspectiva / pes Picturae …’, Nürnberg, 1720.

Made by ‘Michael Heinrich Rentz and J.D. a Montalegre’ after ‘Johann Jacob Schübler’. Michael heinrich Rentz (1698-1758) was a German draftsman and Baroque engraver from Nürnberg. He was a pupil of Jozef a Montalegre ( – 1718). Rentz worked with Jozef’s son Johann Daniel a Montalegre. They mostly engraved architectural details after Schübler. Johann Jacob Schübler (1689-1741) was a german Baroque architect and author.

Condition: Good, given age. Small worm hole in top right margin, not effecting image. Light creasing and soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
