BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive print was at first published ca 1630.
Biography artist: Pieter de Laer or Pieter Boddingh van Laer or Pieter Jacobsz de Laer (or 10 other names he used) monogrammed P.D.L. on the plate. He was born 1599, but his date of death is uncertain, probably 1642. He was a Dutch painter, draughtsman and etcher from Haarlem.
