BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive print was published in 1758 by De Hondt, The Hague. Early engravings from Antoine Francois Prevost: Histoire Generale des Voyages. Vol. 16. These are illustrations were previously published by Francois Valentijn in 1726.
Biography engraver: Jakob van der Schley (1715-1779) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver, who mostly did portrait engravings and frontispieces for books throughout his career.
