Description

Subject: Title: ‘Les Gens s’habillant au sortir du Bain.’ (People getting dressed after leaving bath. Possibly Mars watching Venus.) After N. Poussin. The etching also shows a putti / cupid. Gravé par B. Picart, d’apres un dessein atribue au Poussin, du Cabinet de B. Picart.

Condition: Fine; general age related toning; occasional faint spots / foxing as visible on scan. Actual sheet slightly larger than pictured!
Medium: Etching / engraving on verge type hand laid paper.
Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 40 x 23.5 cm. The image size is ca. 35 x 15.5 cm.
Size (in inch): The overall size is ca. 15.8 x 9.2 inch. The image size is ca. 13.8 x 6 inch.

Artists and Engravers: The author and engraver of this work is Bernard Picart (1673-1733). He was a French painter. He was born in Paris and died in Amsterdam. Engraved after Nicolas Poussin (1594-1665) who was a French painter in the classical style.
