Artists and Engravers: The author and engraver of this work is Bernard Picart (1673-1733). He was a French painter. He was born in Paris and died in Amsterdam. Engraved after Charles Le Brun (1619-1690) who was a French painter and art theorist, one of the dominant artists in 17th century France.
