Biography engraver: Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708) was a Dutch engraver, designer, and political satirist. He played a major role in visual propaganda during the Glorious Revolution, producing elaborate allegorical and historical compositions celebrating William III’s expedition to England in 1688.
