Biography engraver: Francis Jukes (1745-1812) was a British engraver and watercolorist, an early specialist in aquatint. He was influenced by Paul Sandby and was active in landscape and topographical engraving. He published many works, often collaborating with other artists. He died in London, reportedly due to the harmful effects of engraving chemicals.
Biography artist: Robert Freebairn (1764-1808) was a British landscape painter and draughtsman. He studied under Richard Wilson and Philip Reinagle before traveling to Italy, where he painted numerous Italian landscapes. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the British Institution, and his works were widely engraved.
