A finely executed engraving depicting a weary man standing in a rugged landscape, leaning on his staff with a melancholic expression. His basket of produce is overturned on the ground, symbolizing hardship or loss. The dramatic sky and desolate scenery enhance the emotional weight of the image. This work is after Frederik Bloemaert, known for his pastoral and allegorical prints, often inspired by the compositions of his father, Abraham Bloemaert.
