Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, creasing, and soiling. Dampstaining in top and right margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Gunnar Vidar Forssell (1859-1903) was a Swedish engraver and xylographer known for reproductions of paintings and illustrations in periodicals. He developed a distinct engraving style and worked for major illustrated publications in Sweden.
Biography artist: Alexander Liernur (1856-1917) was a Dutch painter and draftsman known for genre interiors and portraits. He taught in Deventer and participated in Dutch exhibitions of contemporary masters. This work is after a painting by Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio, 1483-1520), the Italian High Renaissance master.
