Plate : ‘Setting out to the Fair.’ A young couple leaving a house hand in hand, bidding farewell to an old woman by the door, with her left forefinger raised.

Made by Francis Eginton after Francis Wheatley.

Medium: stipple engraving / etching with hand colouring on wove paper.

Sheet size: 47 x 58.5 cm (18.5 x 23.03 inch). Image size: 45 x 56.5 cm. (17.72 x 22.24 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Some imperfections, several mostly small tears, some repaired. A few small creases / crinkles. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Original antique master print published in London, dated 1804. Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Eginton after Wheatley.

Biography engraver: Francis Eginton (Birmingham 1775 ? 1823 near Newport, Shropshire) was a reknown English stipple engraver.

Biography artist: Francis Wheatley RA (London 1747 ? 28 June 1801) was an English portrait and landscape painter.
