Medium: Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.

Condition: very good, given age. Light foxing, creasing and soiling. Horizontal fold in middle. Some tears at fold margin. Stain at bottom right. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Published in Venice by Johannes Van Campen, before 1699.

Biography engraver: Valentin Lefebvre (ca. 1642-ca. 1680) was a French draftsman and etcher known for reproducing Italian masters, especially Veronese. Active in Venice.

Biography artist: Paolo Veronese (1528-1588), also known as Paolo Caliari, was a leading Venetian Renaissance painter celebrated for grand biblical and allegorical compositions in luminous color.
