Antique print, untitled. Landscape with ruins, two groups of people in conversation, and couple leading some pack mules into the ruins. State: II (3). Ref: Hollstein 289. Artists and Engravers: Made by Jan van de Velde after own design. Jan van de Velde (1593-1641) came from the southern Netherlands as a fugitive around 1600 to the Netherlands. His father was a writingmaster and trained Jan as an etcher. He produced many highly important series of landscape prints.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped to the platemark. Print attached to carrier sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
