Condition: very good, given age. Light foxing, creasing and soiling. Light dampstaining in margins. Small tear at top middle margin, backed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Engraved by Allais after Roehn; published in Paris, early 19th century.
Biography engraver: Jean-Alexandre Allais (1792-1850) was a French engraver trained by David and by Massard and Fosseyeux for engraving. He exhibited from 1819 and was known for historical, portrait, and vignette engravings.
Biography artist: Adolphe Roehn (1780-1867) was a French painter and lithographer who studied under Vincent and Regnault. Known for historical and genre scenes, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1799-1866.
